Coding Query Process & Query Process: Health Data Standards and Systems in Victorian Hospitals - Department of Human Services Victoria Australia

Coding queries are submitted to the Secretary via email, fax or the internet.
The Secretary prepares the queries and emails them to Committee members with the agenda for the next meeting.
Committee members research queries by checking indexes, Australian Coding Standards, dictionaries, reference books, previous Victorian queries, expert coders and clinicians.
Committee members discuss findings at the meeting and formulate responses. (Queries may be forwarded to the NCCH or other expert body, if they are unable to be answered.)
The Secretary prepares the minutes which are considered for confirmation at the following meeting.
The enquirer is sent an answer and the query with its response is published in the Victorian ICD Coding Committee Queries Database.

Coding Queries can also be faxed to the Victorian Coding Committee on (03) 9096 7743.

Episode Idenitification: (Please provide either the Unique Key for the episode or the Patient Idenitifier for the patient that this query relates to. This is not for use by the Coding Committee but ensures that the applicable admission/attendance can be recalled when the query is resolved. Please indicate which identifier is being used.)
