Clinical Coders and Health Information ManagersWhat are Clinical Coders and Health Information Managers?Clinical Coders (CCs) and Health Information Managers (HIMs) are a vital part of Victoria's health information workforce (HIW). They work within both public and private hospitals. In Victoria, the HIW is responsible for managing the coded information that supports the $7.3 billion of funding provided annually to public health services. Victoria is currently experiencing a shortage of both CCs and HIMs, and work arising from Victoria's Health Information Workforce Strategy is aimed at addressing this.
