Control of the Hazelwood Mine has been handed back to the mine managers, GDF Suez and the inquiry
The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is continuing to monitor air quality and is providing the Department with results of testing.

Hazelwood open cut mine fire health study - Community consultation
Over 100 members of the Morwell community attended consultation sessions to learn more about the health study and help provide input into its design. The Chief Health Officer has committed to continuing dialogue with this community to ensure their concerns are heard and will provide regular updates relating to the health study. Air quality testing
The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is testing air quality in Morwell as part of the monitoring program for the Hazelwood coal mine fire. Results of sampling are being provided to the Department of Health to interpret and provide health advice.
