Strengthening Home and Community Care (HACC) in Aboriginal Communities strategyPage contents: Overview | Download document OverviewThe Home And Community Care (HACC) program is jointly funded by the Victorian and Australian Governments and provides funding for services that support frail older people, younger people with disabilities and their carers. These services provide basic support and maintenance to people living at home and whose capacity for independent living is at risk, or who are at risk of premature or inappropriate admission to long-term residential care. The Strengthening HACC in Aboriginal Communities strategy outlines directions to support HACC service provision for Aboriginal people in Victoria over 2008-11. The focus is to strengthen the capacity of HACC funded Aboriginal organisations to provide services to Aboriginal people and to develop and sustain alliances between Aboriginal and generic organisations funded by the HACC program to improve access to the full range of services funded by the HACC Program for Aboriginal people in Victoria.
