Genetic Services Advisory Committee

Governance of the genetics program within the Department of Health changed in 2008 to better align service operation with broader public health care provision. As a result, the Genetic Services Advisory Committee (GSAC) was disbanded, pending a review on consultative arrangements and the genetics service system.

In the interim, consultation with key stakeholders occurs through the use of time-limited, task specific groups, issue-specific meetings and regular discussions with service providers.
