Information for Food Analysts

Part V of the Food Act 1984 outlines the roles and responsibilities of persons that the Secretary authorises as Analysts under the Act.

These Analysts play an important role in contributing to food safety for the Victorian consumer, analysing food samples for chemical or microbiological parameters, or for a variety of parameters defined by complaints from the community.

Section 30 (6) of the Food Act 1984 provides that the Secretary of the Department is to maintain a list of persons approved to carry out analyses and a copy of the list is to be open for inspection by any person.

Information for applicants in 2013

Applications from prospective analysts are invited for 2013. Applications for authorisation as a food analyst should be received by the Assistant Director, Food Safety & Regulation by 30/6/2013.

Any interviews for prospective analysts will be conducted in July 2013.  Applicants will be notified individually of the date of their interview.
