Food safety in focus. Food Act report 2010 has been developed as required under the Food Act 1984 (s. 7C).

Wide-ranging amendments to the Victorian Food Act 1984 came into effect in July 2010. Among other benefits, the changes have strengthened the accountabilities of food regulators through the introduction of annual public reporting about food safety regulation.

The first report records the activities, operations and achievements of the Department of Health and local governments as co-regulators under the Food Act for the calendar year 2010.
