Training requirements
Food business owners are legally responsible under the Food Act 1984 to ensure that the food that is sold to its customers is safe for them to eat. Victorian food laws also require the business to comply with the Food Standards Code. This means that not only is the business owner/proprietor responsible for food safety in the business, but also all staff who prepare food are legally responsible to ensure that the food they handle is safe This section will help you to find food safety information and training courses if you need these.
