Guide to developing risk management plans

The Public Health & Wellbeing Act 2008 and related Regulations commence on 1 January 2010.

The Department has commenced a process to update the 'Guide to developing risk management plans for cooling tower systems' first published in 2001 to reflect these new laws.  While the majority of the existing document remains current there has been some important changes that are reflected in the following documents. A consolidated and updated version of the Guide will be published during mid-2010.

The following four documents replace Chapter 3 of the Guide:

Attachment B - Alternative HCC Sampling and Response (37kb, pdf)
Attachment C - Legionella Sampling and Response (34kb, pdf)

The following document is a supplement to the existing risk management plan template (which appears as Attachment 1 in the Guide):
