Overview

The Department of Human Services is pleased to release the report of the Review of Turning Point Alcohol and Drug Centre. This review was jointly commissioned by the Department of Human Services and the Board of Turning Point Centre to assess the currency of the centre’s mandate in light of recent changes to the centre’s operating environment, alcohol and other drug policy, and the service delivery landscape in Victoria and nationally.

The 22 recommendations contained in the report provide opportunities to better position Turning Point to provide leadership to the alcohol and other drug treatment sector in Victoria, and deliver on its clinical practice, research and education and training functions.

The Government looks forward to working with the Board of Turning Point Centre, other partners, staff, key stakeholders, the centre’s clients and the local community to explore the report’s recommendations, and further strengthen the centre’s leadership role.
