Rural Pathways: A review of the Victorian drug treatment service system in regional and rural VictoriaPage content: Background | Download document BackgroundIn 2003, a large-scale project on Victoria's drug treatment service system, the Service System Review (SSR), was completed. While the SSR included some information and recommendations on service delivery for regional and rural Victoria, further investigation into the drug treatment service framework and the proposed changes in regional and rural Victoria was suggested. Drugs Policy and Services Branch, Department of Human Services (DPSB), subsequently commissioned Turning Point to conduct the Regional and Rural Service System Review. The current review aimed to "further explore how the proposed changes to the service delivery framework relate to the regional and rural context and to identify any required adjustments for non-metropolitan service delivery". A multiple methods approach was taken, involving: a literature review; the analysis of service monitoring data; regional forums; key informant interviews, and consumer interviews. The review commenced late in 2003 and was completed in July 2004 Download document
