COAG Consultation Regulation Impact Statement: Strategies to implement a national approach to poisonous chemical controls
The National Coordinating Committee for Therapeutic Goods has released the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) consultation regulation impact statement (RIS) on strategies to implement a national approach to poisonous chemical controls, for public comment.
The consultation RIS considers options to improve national consistency of poisonous chemical regulation, as set out in the Standard for Uniform Scheduling of Medicines and Poisons (SUSMP). Currently, inconsistencies exist in the nature and level of poisonous chemical controls and how they are applied across jurisdictions.The consultation RIS meets Office of Best Practice Regulation requirements.
The consultation period closes on Monday, 17 September 2012.Briefings on the RIS will be held in Sydney and Melbourne.
