Going for Gold at the Melbourne Show
'Go for your life' has been awarded second place for its stand at the Royal Melbourne Show in the 'best display by a Government or semi-government authority.'
In the tightly contested competition 'Go for your life' came second to the Victoria Police stand. This is a great achievement for the 'Go for your lifers'. The Royal Melbourne Show is the state's biggest event with approximately half a million Victorians attending annually.
Each year, the Department of Human Services hosts a stand within the Victorian Government Expo Centre which is visited by approximately sixty per cent of show attendees. 'Go for your life' has exhibited at the Government Expo since 2006.
The 'Go for your life' stand is well known for its great messaging and activities such as the promotion of the 'Go for your life' website, educational displays around everyday and occasionally foods, netball and football activities. It also promotes the broad range of ‘Go for your life’ programs - such as the Life!-Taking Action on Diabetes program.
The 'Go for your life' stand is also well known for its enthusiastic and hard working volunteers who bring such energy and dedication to their work at the show. This year they will distribute over 6,000 giveaways!
