Overview

This report by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare’s Dental Statistics and Research Unit (DSRU) was commissioned by the Department of Human Services to provide information regarding:

  • the supply and demand for oral health services;
  • recruitment and retention of public sector personnel; and
  • labour force needs.

The report includes 10-year projections of the demand for, and supply of, oral health services personnel in Victoria in both the public and private sector. It also identifies factors which impact recruitment and retention in the public sector, and provides a labourforce needs analysis for future training needs.
