Integrated oral health services: a step in the right directionPage content: Overview | Download document OverviewIntegrated oral health services: a step in the right direction aims to assist management, staff and stakeholders of community health services and school dental services with the transition to integrated services. It draws on what the early adopters learnt in their transition to an integrated service, and provides information on the key enablers for a successful change and transition process. The integration of school dental services into locally managed community health services is a major policy objective of the Victorian Government. Integrated oral health services are expected to achieve:
Integration is a significant change that will make a lasting, positive impact on the Victorian community. From experiences so far, integration is achieving measurable benefits for clients and dental staff. There have also been additional benefits for the entire community health services sector through advancing overall integration.
