Rural incentives

There are a range of job opportunities available to dental professionals across Victoria in community clinics, hospitals and mobile vans. Some of the most rewarding opportunities are in rural locations where many clinicians feel they become a real part of the local community.

Working in rural areas is not for everyone, and because it can be a big change for clinicians who have often trained and worked in cities there are incentives to practice public dentistry in rural areas. Each rural employer will provide a unique package to staff in addition to their base salary. This may include a substantial salary bonus, accommodation, car or travel allowances or a combination of incentives.

Vacancies across Victoria, including those at rural clinics, are listed on the Dental Health Services Victoria website. You can contact clinics with vacancies directly to discuss the incentives available. For a list of public dental clinic locations see Clinic locations.
