Quality Use of Medicines item numbers

Overview

The Medicare Benefits Schedule funds services that help ensure the quality use of medicines, both in the community sector and in Commonwealth-funded residential aged care facilities

Medicare business rules stipulate that these services must be coordinated by the patient’s GP and involve an accredited pharmacist in order for the item to be claimable. Note that only certain types of patients are eligible for MBS-rebateable Quality Use of Medicines services.
