Upcoming forum: Client service models, but not as you know them - Medicare and community health services

The case for integrated models of care is now stronger that ever, with state and Commonwealth governments having similar priorities for health. Models supporting effective chronic disease care are of particular relevance to the community health sector.

A number of Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) item numbers have the potential to lead to more integrated local approaches to health care provision by providing remuneration for GPs, practice nurses and allied health professionals to work together. Work by community health services to implement new models of care that involve general practice and incorporate appropriate MBS item numbers can also enhance client access to public and private services.

Date: Wednesday 18 November, 9am to 4pm
