Since funding was first available in 2004-05, a variety of projects have been supported ranging from systems enhancement to the establishment of new CHS GP clinics. These included a mix of one, two and three year projects. General Practice: Growing Partnerships, Great Potential: GPs Strategy Projects Review ForumOn 27th August 2007, the Primary Health Branch held a one day forum with key stakeholders to discuss learnings from current and previously funded GPs in CHSs Strategy projects to inform the next phase of the general practice strategy. Note that since the forum, the Working with General Practice Department of Human Services Position Statement and Resource Guide was launched by the Honourable Daniel Andrews MP, Minister for Health on Thursday 20 December 2007. The Guide articulates the department's vision for a strengthened collaborative interface with general practice and highlights opportunities to further align State and Commonwealth agendas. Though the guide was developed primarily for departmental staff, it also provides case study examples of effective collaborative models involving general practice. Contacts |
