Clinical Networks Membership

There are a number of working groups within each network which report to the Leadership Group.  Membership of the network is multi-sectoral, multi-disciplinary, time limited and includes representation from consumer organisations.  Not all will be active members in the sense of attending meetings on a regular basis.  However, it is critical that all members are supportive of each network’s principles and expected outcomes.

Membership of each network will vary according to the network’s needs, but the core membership should include representatives of:

  • Consumers and Carers
  • Clinicians
  • Health Services
  • Primary Care
  • Allied Health
  • Population Health / Prevention Professionals
  • Researchers and Academics
  • Aboriginal Health Organisations (where appropriate)
  • Relevant Non Government and private sector organisations.

It is the responsibility of network participants to ensure that their health service management is aware of current issues being considered by each individual network.  The Clinical Networks and Service Development Unit of the Department of Human Services will ensure that a summary of network activities is circulated to health service Chief Executives on a regular basis.
