Network to Network 2010 - the inaugural Australasian Clinical Networks Conference

The first Australian Clinical Networks Conference is to be held in Melbourne in 2010. The conference will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground from Wednesday 17 to Friday 19 March 2010 and is being hosted by Victorian Department of Human Services.

The conference will bring together Clinical Networks from across Australia and internationally to provide an opportunity to share and promote ideas on Clinical Networks.

Sharing examples of ‘best practice’ in Clinical Networks will be a key theme looking at areas such as:

  • Establishing and maintaining effective networks, structure, focus and operation of networks in different places, what is thought to work from different perspectives and why?

  • Evaluation and outcomes of clinical networks, are they an effectiveness mechanism for enabling clinicians to lead and influence clinical practice improvement at a state wide level, engage with and influence the policy process?

  • Consumers as network participants and partners in improving care, have clinical networks provided a platform from which consumers have been able to influence the development of models of care, and other aspects of service delivery?

  • Connected and collaborative care, how are networks contributing to spanning boundaries between metropolitan and rural services, primary, acute and subacute care? Are networks building relationships between health services to support uptake of evidence based care, education programs, and improve equity of access to services?

Concurrent sessions will be an opportunity for individual networks to share experiences and discuss issues and solutions of common interest under the different themes in interactive forums.

We encourage anybody who is interested in understanding how Clinical Networks operate and what they can contribute to improving continuity and consistency of care to attend this conference.
