Formative evaluation of the Credentialling and defining scope of practice policy
During 2009, the Department of Health completed a formative evaluation of the Credentialling and defining the scope of clinical practice for medical practitioners in Victorian health services policy (the policy). The policy was released in 2007 and should be fully implemented across all sites by October 2012, which allows for a full contract cycle for all senior doctors.
Six health services participated in the evaluation. The evaluation explored the impact of implementation of the policy and identified barriers and enablers to implementation. The survey data have been collated and results are now available. Recommendations have been made to assist organisations as the policy implementation continues.
The results of this evaluation will also inform a summative evaluation of the policy planned for post 2012.
