Background
In light of current global situations, the following information and links
have been provided to ease public concern. These documents contain information
about the diseases, and some also contain more extensive information about
surveillance and control. It should be noted that Victoria has a mechanism
for identifying, investigating and containing cases of these diseases,
details of which are included in this document.

Managing emergencies & threats in Victoria
The Emergency Management Act 1986 defines the emergency management structure
which operates in Victoria, and assigns roles and responsibilities to agencies
when involved in an emergency situation. The following health and medical
plans have been developed within these legislated arrangements.
