Overview

A Metropolitan Cemetery Change Advisory Committee (MCCAC) has been created to discuss and identify key issues about the implementation of the amalgamation of the 10 metropolitan cemetery trusts. Vicki Pridmore has been appointed as chairperson of this committee.

Established within the MCCAC are the following 5 sub committees:

  1. Transfer of Business
  2. Industrial Relations
  3. Community Advisory Committee
  4. Governance
  5. Communications

The role of these sub committees are to:

  • provide advice, recommendations and information to the MCCAC and project board to undertake specific tasks to facilitate the government’s reform process; and
  • raise any issues or concerns cemeteries staff and the sector may be having as a result of the restructure process.

A Rural and Regional Advisory Committee (RCAC) has been created to discuss and identify key issues about their enhanced statutory responsibilities, including a formal leadership role which will involve guiding and assisting the volunteer rural and regional trusts in their areas. Lawrie Miller has been appointed as chairperson of this committee.

Members of both committees are made up of the 14 cemetery trusts affected by the restructure of the cemeteries sector – namely, current CEO’s, Chairpersons and nominated trust members.
