The Consultative Council on Obstetric and Paediatric Mortality and Morbidity (CCOPMM) was established in 1962 to provide advice to the Minister for Health on issues relating to perinatal, maternal and paediatric morbidity and mortality.

The CCOPMM has statutory responsibility for the administration of the Victorian Perinatal Data Collection and the Victorian Birth Defects Register.

The CCOPMM is supported by a secretariat located within the Clinical Councils Unit, part of the Quality, Safety & Patient Experience Branch of the Department of Health.
