Consumer representation was strongly supported on a wide
range of statewide as well as local BSEP committees. In addition,
leading consumer, Ms Lyn Swinburne, chaired the BreastCare
Victoria Advisory Committee.
The range of BreastCare Victoria strategies supported to
strengthen consumers' capacity to contribute to service redevelopment
initiatives included:
Funding of the implementation of Science and Advocacy
Training Programs for consumer representatives and advocates.
The provision of workshops for consumer representatives
on BreastCare Victoria and related committees.
The implementation of a grant program to support consumer
representatives attending conferences and training workshops.
