BreastCare Advisory Committee
The BreastCare Advisory Committee, was chaired by Ms Lyn Swinburne
of the Breast Cancer Network Australia. The expert advisory group
comprised representatives from consumer groups, clinicians, breast
care nurses, researchers, general practice and women's and community
health areas.

Terms of Reference
- To advise the Department of Human Services on policy development,
service delivery and quality improvement issues in relation to
breast services.
- To advise on standards of best practice in relation to breast
disease.
- To provide links and facilitate communication with expert and
professional bodies and consumer groups, to guide the redevelopment
of breast care services.
- To liaise with research bodies, and assist the BreastCare Coordination
Unit in providing a watching brief on research developments in
breast disease.
- To provide advice on the monitoring and evaluation of the Breast
Disease Service Redevelopment Strategy.
- To liase with other Departmental committees as appropriate.
