Box Hill Hospital Redevelopment Project
Our Vision
As the major referral centre for people living in the eastern region of Melbourne, the redeveloped Box Hill Hospital will be a contemporary and technologically advanced healthcare facility, attracting the finest staff to deliver innovative models of care to our patients.
Improving Box Hill Hospital
The Victorian Government has committed $447.5 million dollars for the redevelopment of the hospital which will be completed in 2015. The Department of Health and Eastern Health are working together to deliver this healthcare facility.
The hospital will remain operational throughout the redevelopment and this website aims to keep you up to date with what’s happening with this exciting project.

A new building (total area over 32,000 square metres) will be built on the site of the car park and former Clive Ward building, adjacent to the existing hospital building. It will be joined to the hospital via a stunning glass atrium.
Upon completion of the new block in 2014, some refurbishment of the existing hospital will take place.
