Improving Box Hill Hospital
The Victorian Government’s $447.5 million redevelopment of Box Hill Hospital which began in November 2011 includes the construction of a new ten-storey clinical services building and some refurbishment of the existing hospital.
The new state-of-the art building was officially opened on 12 August 2014.
The new facility is now being prepared for occupation with staff training programs and operational commissioning underway. It is planned to relocate patients during week commencing 29 September 2014.
Box Hill Hospital's new clinical services building (Building A)
The 45 metre tall building (total area in excess of 52,000 square metres) will be known as Building A and connectsto the west wing of the hospital via an atrium and four linkways. Some refurbishment of the existing hospital (to be known as Building B) has begun and will be completed in late 2015.
