Clinical audit of fresh frozen plasma use in Victorian and Tasmanian hospitals 2005–06Page contents: Summary | Download report SummaryWe conducted an audit to determine whether current fresh frozen plasma (FFP) transfusion practice in Victorian and Tasmanian hospitals is consistent with contemporary best practice clinical guidelines. Hospitals with significant routine usage of FFP (as determined by annual issues of FFP to hospitals from the Australian Red Cross Blood Service) were invited to contribute data on 30 consecutive FFP transfusion episodes within their institutions. The report provides the data collected for each specific hospital, and makes this available to those organisations. It then presents the overall findings resulting from analysing the data provided by all of the contributing hospitals. Download report
