Quality Improvement & Best Practice Funding Program
The quality improvement and best practice funding program is designed to:
- Encourage the use of health care practices known to improve health outcomes by application of available knowledge on effectiveness of care;
- Encourage best practice use of resources through systems redesign.
Agencies have been encouraged to develop and submit proposals for funding under the quality improvement and best practice funding round that aim to:
- Reduce adverse events in clinical settings;
- Implement and evaluate practices to improve routine service delivery and outcomes for health service clients by application of available knowledge on effectiveness of care;
- Decrease unplanned or inappropriate variations in care;
- Implement evidence-based clinical guidelines (eg. through clinical care pathways);
- Develop, implement and disseminate models of best-practice widely throughout the Victorian health sector (eg. through professional journals, workshops, conferences etc.); and
- Target current systems problems, demonstrate improved efficiency in service provision, and promote system re-design and system-wide sustainable implementation of innovations in service delivery.
