Introducing Health DisplanThe Victorian State Medical Emergency Response Plan (Medical DISPLAN) provides medical and health resources and casualty transport in the pre-hospital phase of emergencies, particularly for mass casualty situations. On December 1st 2006 new arrangements will be put in place for Victoria’s health and medical response to major emergencies. The State Health Emergency Response Plan (to be known as Health Displan) will replace existing Medical Displan arrangements. Current Medical Displan arrangements will remain in place until 1st December. The department is engaging with stakeholders across the Health and Human services sector to provide training to staff with specific roles outlined in the plan, and raise awareness amongst agencies effected by the new arrangements. A copy of the State Health Emergency Response Plan and its subplans is available from the HEALTH Displan website.
