Ms Jacinta Allan
Jacinta was elected as the Member for Bendigo East in September
1999, and is proud to be representing the Bendigo Region
in the Victorian Parliament as a member of the Bracks Government.
Jacinta believes it is her job to stand up for the community

Mr Peter Craighead
Peter has had extensive experience in the management of
rural health services with expertise in review, restructuring
and change management. Peter is a registered nurse with
postgraduate qualifications in health management and has
worked at Yarram and District Health Service since 1989
in the combined role of Director of Nursing and Chief Executive
Officer. During this time he implemented a comprehensive
program of restructure culminating in the piloting of the
rural Healthstreams model. Peter is a member of a number
of committees and has worked as a consultant to other rural
hospitals and for the Department of Human Services. >>

Dr Nola Maxfield
Nola Maxfield is a rural GP, who has been practicing in
Wonthaggi, South Gippsland, for the last 16 years. She provides
a wide range of medical services to the community, including
anaesthetics, obstetrics, Accident and Emergency and Women's
health skills, as well as education for medical students,
trainee GPs and young doctors. Nola is a board member of
both the South Gippsland Division of General Practice and
the state-wide organization for Divisions, General Practice
Divisions Victoria. She is Chair of the local Primary Care
Partnership. For many years she has been involved in the
Rural Doctors Association of Victoria and Australia. Nola
represents Rural Doctors on the National Rural Health Alliance.

Dr Wayne Spring
Wayne is a Consultant Physician in Ballarat working in private
practice and at both Ballarat Health Services (BHS) and
St John of God Hospital. He is the current Chairman of the
Division of Medicine at BHS and a past Rural Representative
on the State Committee on the Royal Australasian College
of Physicians. He has an interest in promoting rural and
regional health and in particular addressing the disparity
of opportunity for medical care between city and country
patients. |

Ms Anne Marie Scully
Anne-Marie Scully, a registered nurse and midwife, was Federal
Nurse Adviser to the Australian Nursing Federation from
1994 to 1997 when she joined the ANF (Victorian Branch).
She has worked in acute care, remote areas, with the International
Red Cross in refugee camps, and prior to moving to the ANF,
at the Department of Health and Community Services in Victoria,
and, as Nurse Adviser involved in the provision of sensitive
policy advice on issues such has rural health, critical
care, drugs and poisons, and ethical and educational issues.>>
