Supporting Accomodation for Vulnerable Victorians Initiative (SAVVI) Supporting Connections(previously known as SRS Service Coordination and Support Program) The Supporting Accommodation for Vulnerable Victorians Initiative (SAVVI) was introduced in the 2006 State Budget with an announcement of 40.4 million over 5 years to slow decline in the pension-level SRS sector. SAVVI has three principle components: Facility Cost Relief, Resident Amenity and Safety Funding and Supporting Connections. Supporting Connections services have the duel objectives of (a) improving resident social participation and access to services and (b) SRS viability. A key focus of Supporting Connections is to build skills/capacity of proprietors and staff to identify resident needs, improve care planning and better manage challenging behaviours. The Supporting Connections Program builds on, and incorporates, the four existing SRS Service Coordination and Support Services that have been operating in North, West, Eastern and Southern metropolitan regions for some time. A number of new Supporting Connection services are being funded from January 2009. The details of both current and expanded services are listed below:
