Walking< back to contents | next page> Walking is a great way for you to be active as it is simple, convenient, low cost, can be done in your own time, alone or with neighbours, friends or family. Tips on Walking Focus on a tall posture, head up with shoulders back and abdomen in. Land on the heel of your foot. Roll forward onto the ball of your foot, and then push off from your toes. Take even, comfortable strides and allow your arms to swing freely and rhythmically. Walk & Talk Program The Walk and Talk Program is made up of people who enjoy walking and is simple, safe and free. The program encourages friends, neighbours and family members to go on regular walks around the neighbourhood together at their own pace.
