Why walking is good for you and tips for walking

Developed by: National Ageing Research Institute

Format: Poster or Handouts

Although there is no conclusive evidence that walking can reduce falls, walking still remains an important physical activity. It is functional, simple, does not require any special equipment or expertise to do, and has a range of health benefits. The poster outlines the benefits of walking in relation to health and wellbeing, and also provides a range of tips for safe walking.

This can be displayed as a poster, with all the information on the one page (A3 page or larger is recommended). Alternatively it can be used as handouts, and be provided to residents and their relatives.
