Stepping into falls prevention

Developed by: Goulburn Valley Health

Format: Booklet (A4 sized, 20 pages) and PowerPoint Presentation

Booklet:

An informative booklet that covers a broad range of risk factors associated with falls and fall related injury. It includes practical suggestions, great gift and bright ideas, and what to do if you fall. This booklet is not residential care specific and may be more appropriate for family members or residents who do not have cognitive impairment and may want more information about why falls occur and how to prevent them.

PowerPoint presentation:

This 16 - slide PowerPoint presentation is a simplified version of the booklet and is specific to residential aged care services (unlike the booklet). Although a PowerPoint presentation may not be suitable for resident education, the presentation can help structure informal discussions with residents and can be used to prepare overheads or posters.
