OverviewFalls occur at all ages - however, unlike falls among children, younger adults and people in their middle years, they can be more serious for people aged over 65. Research tells us that about one-third of people aged over 65 fall each year. Of these falls, b etween 10-20% result in a serious injury, such as a fracture. Many other falls while not necessarily causing an injury can cause you to lose confidence in undertaking your daily activities. They can affect your independence and quality of life.
