Preventing falls: a guide for seniors

Developed by: South West Sub-Regional Falls Prevention Project and the Southern Grampians and Glenelg Primary Care Partnership

Format: Booklet (A4 sized, 15 pages)

An informative, well structured and easy to read booklet. Each page is dedicated to a specific risk factor and includes:

  • A series of questions to help determine if a risk factor applies

  • A range of helpful suggestions and details of who to contact for help, and

  • Space for seniors to outline two actions they can take to address the specific risk factor.

Other information includes great gifts and bright ideas, what to do if you fall. (Page 15 is for health services/organisations to add details of local senior activity programs.)

(This booklet was based on Goulburn Valley Health and Peninsula Health Falls Prevention Service booklets.)
