Evaluation

A key component of any falls prevention program is determining how effectively the program meets its aims and objectives ie. process, impact and outcomes. From the outset, an evaluation strategy is an essential component of any falls prevention program. In addition to the overall aim for example, to reduce falls and fall-related injuries, the various activities or sub-components of a falls prevention program will also have specific aims and objectives. Evaluation frameworks or tools help define the primary aims and objectives of the program and its sub-components, and detail how each aim and objective is to be measured. This evaluation process can help identify what is making a difference and what needs to be modified to achieve a more effective outcome.
