HITH Electronic Information Exchange (HITH Line)

The HITH Line is an initiative, which seeks to assist all Hospital in the Home programs with information exchange. The "HITH Line" posts your questions and answers to participating programs around Australia via a distribution e-mail list, and operates as a chat group.

Any questions may be posted on the electronic link. Some examples may be:

"We are thinking of caring for neutropenic patients in our HITH program. Are there any other programs that care for neutropenic patients and what is their experience?"

"Has anyone ever administered IV KCl in HITH. We have a patient requiring IV KCl over 60 minutes?"

"Is anyone able to tell me if there are any successfully running HITH programs which treat Hyperemesis Gravidarum patients and is there anyone willing to share information about their program?"

"Does anyone have a protocol about the radius their HITH program will visit from the hospital - from a patient safety perspective in the rural setting?"
(sourced from past questions)

The HITH Line can also be used to disseminate items of interest, news, upcoming conferences and job vacancies relevant to Hospital in the Home.

The distribution list is growing with medical, pharmacy, nursing and allied health care professionals participating from programs around Australia.
